Metropolitan Teaching and Learning Company–Voyages
Working directly with the School District of Hillsborough County, in Florida, we created Voyages, a K–5 mathematics program that included this hands-on kit for Kindergarten children.
Metropolitan Teaching and Learning–Metro Early Reading
For Metropolitan Teaching and Learning Company (“Metro” for short), we developed an early reading program, rated “Exemplary” by the California adoption committee. This program features hand puppets for every letter of the alphabet, large classroom posters, decodable readers, “My Letter Book,” and a comprehensive Teacher Guide.
In response to the requests of many California educators, we created a special English reading/language arts program, designed for students who are newcomers to the United States.
Cancer Cured Kids, Standing Together, Standing Strong
To help school administrators, teachers, parents and students address and support the needs of children diagnosed with cancer, we worked with the Cancer-Cured Kids Foundation to provide useful information for teachers, administrators, and parents, as well as practical strategies for encouraging positive interaction among all students
Brooklyn Union Gas–Energy Choices
Designed for middle school teachers and their students, Brooklyn Union Gas provided schools with this kit in order to introduce practical ways to reduce energy consumption at home and at school
AT&T–The World for Women: In Engineering
The World for Women: In Engineering was part of a major effort by AT&T to increase the number of women engineers within the Company. The program, offered to middle and high schools at no cost, included videos, workbooks, and teaching materials. With an up close and personal interaction with five women engineers featured in the film, high school girls were motivated to take the prerequisite mathematics and science courses needed for college-level engineering courses.
American Hospital Association–Stress!
Developed to address the unique stress faced by hospital administrators, doctors, nurses, and patients, this kit included workshop components that were used by hospital administrators in working with the community organizations, particularly Parent-Teacher Associations. Participants in these lively workshops rated themselves and their lives against the ten most likely causes of stress!
Discovery: Positive Connections for Kids
Targeted to middle school and high school students, Discovery: Positive Connections for Kids was designed to provide administrators, counselors, and teachers with the tools needed to reduce substance abuse among their students. The Federal Office of Substance Abuse funded this project.
